Murder Makes the Rounds
Dr. David Hunter is Medical Staff
President at Green Valley Memorial Hospital. Facing him is the
challenge of keeping his community hospital open as an independent
entity in the face of managed care pressures and the encroachment of
University Medical Center (UMC), seeking to expand its growing empire.
As Chief of Pathology, Dr. Janis
Saunders is more frequently called upon to deal with dead men than live
ones. Serving on the Medical Executive Committee, she emerges as
an unexpected ally in Dr. Hunter's quest to block the hospital's CEO
from arranging a merger with UMC.
The two doctors, both confirmed
singles, develop a comfortable relationship as they try to untangle a
deadly web of hospital politics and ruthless ambition.
Investigating the sudden deaths of two Trustees, Dr. Hunter also
discovers more personal secrets.
Not until after he can explain
the two unusual deaths does David uncover the most important secret of
all: love.

Double
Helix: DNA Never Lies
COMING IN AUGUST 2009
Dr. David
Hunter shares a special evening with his wife, Dr. Janis Saunders, to
celebrate their first wedding anniversary. He falls asleep
thinking life couldn’t be more perfect. Then, the phone rings and
breaks the mood. The call summons Janis, a pathologist, to the
scene of a plane crash.
The case has a special urgency for David, who learns
that his friend and medical partner, Dr. Wesley Fox, could be among the
victims. As Janis helps to identify the dead, David makes
arrangements for Wesley’s rehab, and the members of the office of Fox,
Hunter and Burd breathe a collective sigh of relief. The accident
investigation is prolonged, as there are discrepancies in the passenger
list.
The group takes on a fourth member, Dr. Julian
Ryder. The crash becomes even more significant to the group of
internists as they learn that Julian’s fiancé died in that very
accident. Janis’s speculations give Julian hope, only to cruelly
crush him when the last missing passenger is accounted for.
With his wife posing a series of “what if’s” that
threaten to break up the group, his own involvement in an increasingly
nasty lawsuit, and a parade of disastrous office employees, David is a
candidate for a mental meltdown, and distances himself from
Janis. The DNA questions won’t go away. Will the answers
enable him to keep peace in the office, reclaim his marriage, and
preserve his sanity?
"Double Helix: DNA
Never Lies" will be on store shelves this August!
